So, class, what do you think happens to the grandfather? To the father and his awful fiance? Does it bother you that the author doesn't really tell us? I, for one, think the father gets the message his son communicated and comes to his senses. How about you?

Hi Terry, The history is very upset and unfurtunely happens many times! I have sure now Dad's Petey is going to change his idea! I really hope so! And I have sure that Dad's fiancee is very young and she only wants his money! lol!!
See you tomorrow... Good-night
I think that in the same way that Janaina that the fiance only wants the money. And if the grandfather continues living with them, she couldn't has the money. I think that in the end the father understand that the most important think in the world is his family and brokes with his fiance. And the grandfather continues living in the house.
Hi Terry,
This is the very sad story but I would you like to say thanks for genius the son and usefor a blanket. I think the father got the son's message and Grandad didn't go to the great briick building the goverment place. He will stay at home with son and granson. The awful fiance going to other place. I love my granfather.
see you tomorrow
I think if a peron fall in love, he can do anything.
But, to love his fiancee or to love his parent that has the difference!
Hi!! well i think that the author wants to make us part of the history letting us decide wich will be the best end, because even though he doesn't give us a conclusion he describes that they (the 3 of them) stay together and cry. I think that the father realize that it wasn't fair for his dad to be sended to that place, he also could see how his fiancee really was and specially he understood how much pain he was causing to his son.
Hi everyone! , this is a really sad story, but is a good one, because let you wonder about the end. I think that Petey’s father doesn’t really know his fiancĂ©e until this happened. She can also do this to Petey’s father when he get older too or if he get sick??.. I think that after this rapprochement and the help of Petey, his dad really could understand all that it means to send his father away. He can’t break his family for a person like this. I love my grandpas too!!
“Remember that children are keen observers, so treat others in a way that would make you proud were your child to mimic you.” The story of blanket reminds me of this sentence which was in a parenting book. I was impressed on Petey’s words to his father, and I hope his father could realize his mistake. No one can separate beloved people.
You all wrote great comments and show excellent understanding of the theme of the story (not history, my Spanish friends). I agree that Dad probably didn't really know the fiance until that night and that the son's symbolic gesture was the critical eye-opening event his father needed.
